Ellen Wang is a patent litigation attorney, registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, with extensive experience representing technology and life sciences in complex patent and transactional matters. She has a proven track record of success in patent litigation, including a jury and bench trial and at the International Trade Commission.
She has developed infringement theories and defense strategies of invalidity/unenforceability claims on a number of successful medical devices cases.
Ms. Wang has draft discovery motions, Markman briefs, summary judgment motions, motions in limine and prepared invalidity and infringement contentions. She has also drafted demand letters and negotiated with opposing counsel.
Ms. Wang has prepared technical experts for depositions and trials.
Prior to joining WHGC, Ms. Wang was a senior IP associate at Dechert LLP where she led teams of attorneys and staff on numerous patent infringement cases. She has also conducted and defended depositions of major fact and expert witnesses.
Ms. Wang has experience in all phases of patent litigation, including implementing discovery procedures, drafting motions, taking and defending depositions of major fact and technical witnesses, negotiating with opposing counsel and trial preparation and participation. She has experience with numerous Federal district courts and the International Trade Commission.
Ms. Wang has also performed IP due diligence for various commercial transactions, including assessing IP portfolios, performing freedom-to-operate analyses, reviewing technology licensing agreements and negotiating with company counsel.
Ms. Wang’s experience covers a wide range of technologies and her clients have included medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and computer companies.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Wang was a research associate at Roche Bioscience in the Cell Culture Core Facility.
