Charles Levy is a partner in the International Trade, Investment and Market Access Department. Mr. Levy has an international practice focusing on a broad variety of international trade, investment, finance and export control matters.
Practice
Mr. Levy focuses on developing and implementing trade negotiating strategies, policies and legislation to achieve international business objectives. He also represents clients on legal issues raised by cross-border business transactions, including export controls and disputes involving US trade remedy laws, US free trade agreements and the World Trade Organization.
Mr. Levy has served as Counsel to the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Foreign Economic Policy, Legislative Assistant to Senator Adlai E. Stevenson, Legislative Assistant to Congressman John C. Culver, Legal Advisor to Commissioner Paula Stern at the US International Trade Commission and Vice President of the Emergency Committee for American Trade, a trade association of US multinational corporations.
Mr. Levy has also served on several US government international trade and investment advisory committees, including the US Trade Representative's Investment and Services Advisory Committee as well as the US Department of State's Investment Advisory Committee and its Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy.
Professional Activities
Mr. Levy is a member of the board of directors of Transparency International USA, a non-governmental organization dedicated to combating bribery and corruption in international business transactions. He is also a member of the Executive Council of the American Society of International Law.
