Vickie Wallen is an associate in Perkins Coie's Seattle office, where she assists employers in preventing, investigating, resolving and defending against a wide variety of employment-related claims, including wage and hour, whistleblower, retaliation, wrongful discharge, defamation, harassment and non-compete claims, and discrimination claims based on protected status and family responsibilities. Vickie also advises employers on hiring, disciplining and discharging employees, protecting trade secrets, employment contract, non-compete and severance issues, personnel policies, employee handbooks, corporate ethics and codes of conduct, and on leaves of absence and domestic partnership benefits.
Vickie specializes in employment privacy and workplace technology issues. She assists employers in developing and implementing policies and best practices regarding employee privacy, workplace technology use and information security. She also assists employers in conducting employment privacy and information security audits. Vickie's employment privacy practice emphasizes proactive management of workplace privacy, technology use and data protection, together with employer readiness to execute prompt and appropriate responses to security breaches and other unauthorized or inadvertent disclosures of confidential information.
Vickie is also a member of the firm's Political Law practice, where she advises diverse clients on state campaign finance law and election law, executive and legislative ethics regulation, and lobbying registration and disclosure. She has also litigated election contests.
A former All-American third baseman, Vickie now stays active by trying to keep up with her six-and-a-half-year-old son, Sam.
