Harriet Leva, a former federal prosecutor, has extensive experience representing and advising public and private corporations and individuals in federal criminal and regulatory matters. Her practice focuses on the full range of federal fraud cases, including securities fraud, government procurement fraud, bank fraud, and civil and criminal violations of the False Claims Act, as well as FDA, U.S. Customs, and environmental offenses. She also conducts internal investigations on behalf of boards of directors and committees of boards faced with criminal or regulatory investigations and "whistleblower" complaints.

Harriet has been particularly successful convincing federal prosecutors not to file criminal charges at all or to resolve pending matters on terms favorable to her clients. Recently, in a multimillion dollar criminal securities fraud prosecution of a biotech company and its senior management, Harriet persuaded prosecutors to dispose of the case against her client with a guilty plea not involving fraud and a sentence of straight probation. In a multimillion dollar civil False Claims Act case, after months of intense negotiations, Harriet persuaded the government to settle for less than 6 percent of the government's initial settlement demand.

While serving as a federal prosecutor, Harriet successfully tried over 15 jury trials and was a trial advocacy instructor at the Department of Justice Attorney General's Advocacy Institute. Harriet has been named a Southern California "Super Lawyer" in White-Collar Criminal Defense or Corporate Governance & Compliance each year from 2005 through 2012. She speaks fluent French and has worked as a translator and interpreter.
