Background
Adam Vorhis received a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 2000. While a student at Florida State University, Adam served as a Student Senator and as the director of the Department of Legislative Affairs, a student lobbying group.
Adam then attended the Fredrick G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. During law school, Adam served as a student ambassador and on the Executive Board of the Moot Court team.
Adam Vorhis has been a member of Gainesville community since 2001. He primarily practices in the area of criminal defense, civil litigation and personal injury. Since his time as a prosecutor, has continued to gain invaluable trial experience as a private attorney and routinely represents indigent individuals who have been charged with criminal offenses. In addition to performing independent legal research on almost every case he handles, Mr. Vorhis regularly attends continuing legal education courses to stay up to date on the various changes in the law and the newest innovations of his fellow legal practitioners. Mr. Vorhis is also the current president of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a local association of criminal defense lawyers.
Work Experience
After graduating from law school and passing the Florida Bar in 2004, Adam joined the Jacksonville law firm of Liles, Gavin, Costantino & Murphy. As an associate attorney, Adam worked extensively on civil cases in State and Federal Courts involving personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, contract disputes and property disputes.
Adam returned to Gainesville in 2005 where he was an Assistant State Attorney for the Office of the State Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit. During his time as a prosecutor, Adam gained a significant amount of criminal trial experience, primarily in DUI trials.
