He has been named to Super Lawyer's list of Rising Stars in Southern California from 2009 - 2012, as well as honored as one of the Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association in 2011.
Nicolas was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and raised in Thousand Oaks, California. He graduated in 1996 from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Mathematics.
In 2000, Nicolas earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. One of the highlights of law school for Nicolas was becoming certified by the California State Bar (while still in law school), and trying two jury trials and 21 bench trials through the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, Criminal Division.
After law school, Nicolas became an associate attorney with Kern & Wooley LLP, an AV-rated firm working in insurance bad faith, anti-trust, aviation, products liability and other general liability matters.
Three years later Nicolas formed Adams Noblin Vrataric LLP, in Ventura, California, a law firm that focused on employment law, consumer rights, personal injury, construction defect and representation of Homeowners Associations.
In 2006 Nicolas opened The Law Offices of Nicolas C. Vrataric in Oxnard, California. He is considered a leading Ventura County and Santa Barbara County trial lawyer.
Nicolas represents people in employment matters, including sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination, defamation, wage-and-hour disputes, and meal-and-rest break matters.
Nicolas also represents people who have suffered serious personal injuries, including wrongful death, serious car and motorcycle accidents, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and truck accidents. He also advocates for people who have insurance bad faith issues.
Nicolas believes in vigorously representing his clients in all phases including mediation, arbitration and trial. Since graduating law school, he worked to become a well-rounded trial lawyer.
Nicolas was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000. He also is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central Districts of California.
Nicolas is a member of the California State Bar, Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association, California Employment Lawyers Association, and the National Institute of Trial Advocates.
