Huy obtained his law degree because he recognized the impact unresolved legal issues have on families. Huy gained a broad perspective of the legal system by interning for Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake, Utah Dispute Resolution, and the Guardian ad Litem’s office. He completed both the basic mediation and the advanced domestic/family mediation training. After graduating from the S.J. Quinney College of Law, Huy worked for Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake and helped hundreds of clients with issues involving custody, parent-time, child support, alimony, retirement, property, debts, and domestic violence.
Huy graduated from the University of Utah College of Social Work in 1998 with a Masters of Social Work and an emphasis in child and family therapy. He worked for the Division of Child and Family Services in Child Protective Services, Foster Care, and Protective Services Supervision programs for two years. Following DCFS, Huy worked with LDS Hospital counseling patients with long-term illness. He served as the Director of Social Services for Utah Heritage Hospice and Applegate Home Health and Hospice.
