Cory C. Voight was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 2001. He is licensed to practice in Indiana, Kentucky and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree as a Double Major in Psychology and Sociology. In 2001, Mr. Voight received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Indiana University McKinney School of Law, Indianapolis.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Voight worked as a Deputy Attorney General in the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. In that capacity, he gained wide and varied experience in handling the civil defense of governmental entities and officials in courts throughout Indiana. As a result, he is well versed in representing governmental clients against alleged constitutional deprivations brought pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and claims of torts resulting in personal injury. In particular, he has a great deal of experience in representing law enforcement officials throughout Indiana.
Additionally, Mr. Voight has represented clients in the defense of employment related claims, which include claims of gender discrimination, race discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and age discrimination. In the context of governmental employment, Mr. Voight has handled matters dealing with termination based upon political patronage and retaliation in violation of the First Amendment. Also in the context of governmental employment, he has handled administrative matters at both the administrative level and state court level.
In 2009, Mr. Voight was a recipient of the Attorney General’s ‘You Rock’ Award and Excellence in Public Service Award. In addition to his former roll as a Deputy Attorney General, he was also a Marion County Deputy Prosecutor and an Associate at the firm of Osborn Hiner & Lisher P.C. Mr. Voight is originally from Evansville, Indiana. He currently resides in Fishers, Indiana with his wife, Shannon, and their two sons.
