Mr. Villegas has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation and counseling in a variety of technical disciplines, including semiconductor design, medical devices, engineered materials, mechanical components, computer software, and business methods. Some of Mr. Villegas’ representative matters include patent litigation, intellectual property due diligence associated with mergers and acquisitions, legal opinions concerning patent infringement, validity and freedom-to-operate product clearances, and trademark matters. He earned Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, and a J.D. from Cornell Law School. Before attending law school, Mr. Villegas was a mechanical engineer at Johnson & Johnson and General Electric.
Mr. Villegas has patent litigation experience in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Eastern District of Texas, and the District of Delaware. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Villegas practiced at Ropes & Gray and Fish & Neave. Mr. Villegas is a member of the Firm's Diversity Committee.
