Long before he became a lawyer, Gary developed an interest in employment/labor issues while working for a non-profit employment agency. During law school at the University of San Francisco, he completed an internship with the National Labor Relations Board. Upon graduation, Gary was appointed to a judicial clerkship with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges. There he honed his writing skills and was introduced to federal workers’ compensation law.
Gary’s entire legal career has been spent in the employment/labor law field with nearly 20 years devoted to the field of workers’ compensation law. Originally working as a defense attorney, Gary now works exclusively representing injured workers. Gary is a partner with Boxer & Gerson, having joined the firm in 2003. He is proud to have represented a wide variety of Bay Area workers, ranging from unskilled laborers to tenured college professors. Being able to serve such a diverse client base is a challenge, but one that he relishes.
Gary also enjoys working closely with doctors to understand the medical aspects of each case. With an educational background in science, he enjoys reading and studying medicine as a part of his practice and utilizing this knowledge to assist his clients.
Gary is active in the Asian community, having volunteered for the Asian Law Caucus, as a member of the Asian-American Bar Association, and having served on the Board of Directors of Asian Psychological Services.
