Jeff VanderWal provides advice on ERISA benefit plans administration and operations, labor and employment law, including wage and hour issues, and trade secret and confidentiality matters. In addition Mr. VanderWal has represented clients in employment discrimination and wrongful discharge claims in federal and state courts, and before the DFEH and EEOC. Mr. VanderWal also works with clients on prevailing wage compliance, including annualization of contributions, and apprenticeship and training issues.
Mr. VanderWal received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 1996 from University of California, Santa Barbara and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2003. During law school Mr. VanderWal earned the American Jurisprudence Award for Labor Law. While attending law school he worked as a certified law clerk at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and a clerk at Merrill, Schultz & Wolds, Ltd. He was admitted to practice in California in 2003 and is also admitted to practice law before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California.
Mr. VanderWal is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and California Bar Association.
Prior to working at the Wolds Law Group, Mr. VanderWal was employed at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP and Merrill, Schultz & Wolds, Ltd.
