Ms. Valentine is an attorney admitted to practice in California and New York. As Associate in our firm, Ms. Valentine brings to our office her unique experience working in the intersection of criminal and civil law. Ms. Valentine's experience in civil matters includes engaging in legal and political advocacy to strengthen individual rights, particularly for those involved in the criminal system. Ms. Valentine's commitment to justice extends beyond the courtroom, however. She has taught Constitutional law at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, volunteered as an Exoneree Advocate with the Innocence Project of New Orleans, and engaged in pro bono criminal justice advocacy with the Corrections Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Ms. Valentine's commitment to the public was recognized when she was awarded a Charles H. Revson Public Interest Fellowship to engage in non-profit work on behalf of low-income New Yorkers. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Ms. Valentine earned a graduate degree in criminal justice, where she engaged in research and evaluation of California correctional and parole practices. Ms. Valentine is also a certified yoga instructor.
