Dr. Gene A. Lang is a Registered Patent Attorney specializing in the preparation, filing and prosecution of complex international and domestic patent applications relating to biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, specifically stem cell technologies, transgenic animals, cancer treatments and diagnostics, biologics, vaccines, nutraceuticals, clean technologies and medical devices.
Dr. Lang's technical experience includes cellular and molecular biology, immunology, embryonic stem cell manipulation, genetically engineered mice, recombinant DNA techniques, gene expression profiling, and embryology. Dr. Lang's undergraduate research involved cell cycle analyses utilizing the Aspergillus nidulans model system. Dr. Lang's graduate research was focused in the area of cancer genetics, specifically in the generation and characterization of mouse models of human cancer. While in graduate school, he was awarded the Molecular Genetics of Cancer pre-doctoral training grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Lang was awarded the Doris Rapee Endowed Scholarship, recognizing creativity and innovation in technology, by Franklin Pierce Law Center. During law school, Dr. Lang spent a summer studying abroad at Tsinghua University School of Law in Beijing, China, focusing on Chinese intellectual property law and international business.
Dr. Lang is active in the Intellectual Property Law Association of Florida (IPLAF), the Florida Bar Intellectual Property Law Committee, the Southeast Chapter of BioFlorida, Beacon Council, and the Dade County Bar Association.
