Lander, Gregg

Kara is an associate in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. She is a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Section and practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, and nonprofit law.

Kara's estate planning practice focuses on advising clients on estate, gift and generation-skipping taxation issues, as well as charitable planning and other tax planning. She assists clients with the drafting of wills, trusts, health care directives, powers of attorney and other planning documents. Kara's practice also includes assisting with the administration of trusts and estates. In her experience with nonprofits, Kara advises both private and public charitable organizations on various matters, including entity structure, achieving tax-exempt recognition and maintaining tax-exempt status.

Kara is admitted to practice in Minnesota, Florida and the District of Columbia.

Kara received her B.A. magna cum laude in psychology and nursing from Gustavus Adolphus College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and served as a member of several national honor societies. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Kara joined Briggs in 2007 after practicing for five years with a large Washington, D.C., law firm.
