Brad Lakin is the Managing Attorney at SLChapman LLC. Brad is recognized for his skill as an attorney, a strong administrative leader and an advocate at both the state and federal levels for the legal clients he serves. Brad is known nationally for his law firm's handling of personal injury lawsuits. He personally concentrates in the areas of Nursing Home negligence, FELA and negligence cases. Brad has been aggressively trying nursing home abuse cases after a personal tragedy to a family member. He tried a suit against Fayette County Long Term Care which resulted in a $1.5 million judgment for the plaintiff. Most recently, Brad successfully represented two burn victims in a product liability suit against Ford Motor Company that resulted in a $43 million verdict. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Northern Illinois University School of Law, Brad was admitted to the bar in 1997. He has tried cases in Oklahoma, Arkansas, West Virginia, Nebraska, Missouri and Illinois . Brad is active in the Democratic Party on the local, state and national levels. He serves as a Trust Member of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign committee. Brad is active in his home community and contributes financially to various local causes including: Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, Metro-East Humane Society, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and the Boys & Girls Club. The firm as his family are also involved in scholarship programs through the NAACP, East Alton Rotary, Lewis & Clark Community College and the Laborers Mid-West Regional Scholarship Fund (which benefits children who have lost a parent through workplace injury).
Brad Lakin was born in Alton, Illinois and currently lives in Bethalto with his wife and two children.
