Jonah J. Lalas is a law fellow with Phillips & Cohen.
Mr. Lalas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall), where he was senior articles editor of the Berkeley Journal for Employment and Labor Law. During law school, he worked as a law clerk at firms that focused on employment and labor issues, particularly those involving the rights of union workers. He also was a judicial extern for the Honorable John T. Noonan Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Lalas competed as a member of Boalt's trial advocacy team and won the American Association for Justice Mock Trial Northwest Regional Championship two years in a row.
He was awarded a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans in 2010.
Mr. Lalas worked for the Service Employees International Union in Los Angeles, California, and Houston, Texas, for six years as an organizer and an organizing director before he entered law school.
He is bar qualified in California.
