Lakin, Bradley M.

Donn has worked as an attorney at GWC since September 2002.  He was born the son of a union pipe fitter and a stay at home mom in Oak Park, Illinois.  He was among the first in a large extended family to graduate from college and law school and is proud to have grown up in a hard working family.   

Donn graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1988.  He received his law degree at John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1992.   Donn was also admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992.  In law school, he was member of the Gavel Society and the President of the Labor and Employment Law Society.   Immediately following law school he began representing working people and union members in all types of litigation including Workers Compensation.

Since joining GWC, Donn has exclusively practiced Workers Compensation law handling thousands of claims on behalf of injured workers. Many of these claims have involved third party actions resulting from construction negligence, product liability, automobile accidents, slip and falls and other catastrophic injuries.  Having once been a team leader and a staff corporate attorney for AIG, Donn uniquely understands the need for superior representation for injured workers against Corporations and even smaller employers represented by big insurance companies.   He regularly handles cases and meets with clients in Chicago (Cook County), and Joliet (Will County).  

Donn has successfully resolved hundreds of complex workers compensation claims involving everything from relatively minor injuries to catastrophic injuries and wage loss issues.   Most recently, he obtained a $310,000.00 settlement for an injured laborer in a vigorously disputed workers compensation claim. In this claim, the worker sustained a back injury.  Despite a second surgery, which was, in part, not recommended by several physicians, the worker was unable to return to work full duty as a laborer.   Despite the medical evidence contradicting his client’s need for surgery and disputing her level of disability, Donn was able to settle the claim at a very favorable amount on the basis of a wage loss.   

When not practicing law, Donn spends time with his wife and young daughter.  He is an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoys spending time in Southeastern Wisconsin.
