With broad experience in labor and employment practice, Mr. Tuminaro is a graduate of the Cornell Law School and City University of New York. He served as an Assistant Attorney General and the Bureau Chief of the Civil Rights Division of the state Attorney General's office from 1969-1979. Actively engaged in workers' compensation both as a policy advocate and practitioner, he was Counsel to the chair of the New York State Assembly Committee on Labor and later served on the New York State Temporary Commission on Workers' Compensation. Published in New Solutions, and the Journal of Public Health Policy, he has lectured for many unions and at the Harvard School of Public Health, the City University of New York and Cornell University, among others. From 1990-96 he chaired the Workers' Compensation Committee of the New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health and served on its Board of Directors as well as on the Board of Directors of the Labor Research Association and the Editorial Board of New Solutions. A senior partner in the firm, Mr. Tuminaro edits the bi-weekly fax Workers' Comp: Myths & Realities, a newsletter published by the Center on Worker Injury Policy.
