James T. Tran earned his JD and underwent mediation training at Brigham Young University in 2008. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Eastern District Bar and Louisiana Middle District Bar, American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He was a summer extern for the Attorney General of Louisiana in the Litigation Division, Judge Claudia Laycock of the Utah Fourth District Court, Office of Utah County Attorney, Hill Johnson & Schmutz in Provo, Utah in 2008; Moody & Moody, Stirland and Snow in Spanish Fork, Utah, in 2007. He is active with the Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, Entertainment Law Legal Assistance with the Arts Council of New Orleans. James focuses on medical malpractice and civil litigation.
Jim is also an honors graduate of Loyola University Chicago and its prestigious Stritch School of Medicine. Jim completed neurological surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2001. He earned board certification in neurological surgery from the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 2005.
James also performs case reviews using evidence-based evaluation of the treatment plan in question. Case reviews also address questions of experimental/investigational status, medical necessity and medical appropriateness. In addition, he performs quality of care reviews, or peer reviews, to address and/or prevent medical errors as well as unintended outcomes by assessing the quality of care that medical practitioners are providing.
