Christopher D. Kuebler graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1978 with a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry. After graduation, Mr. Kuebler continued his education at Bowling Green State University, taking graduate courses in an M.B.A. program in 1979. In addition to handling land-based personal injury cases, Mr. Kuebler is considered to be a specialist in admiralty and maritime law, which law encompasses personal injuries which arise on the navigable waters of the United States and includes a wide-variety of personal injury claims including medical malpractice, product liability, collisions, allisions, premises liability, cruise ship injuries, boating collisions and general negligence. Mr. Kuebler has represented commercial divers, dredge operators, blue water seamen, offshore oil platform workers, inland river mariners, deckhands, longshoremen, commercial fishermen in Alaska, in the Gulf Coast and on the Atlantic Seaboard, engineers, licensed nautical personnel and other maritime workers. Mr. Kuebler has also represented workers involving claims against the Military Sea Lift Command and Defense Logistics Agency, and individuals who contracted with the U.S. Military in Iraq and Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom/GWT under the Defense Base Act and War Hazards Act.
Mr. Kuebler has also represented commercial interests in business and insurance coverage disputes involving Cruise Ship operators, shippers, freight forwarders, freight consolidators, consignees, consignors, insurers, international P&I clubs, international shipowners, husbanding agents, bulk cargo shipowners and marina operators. As well, Mr. Kuebler has represented parties concerning environmental damage and contamination, environmental toxic torts, water and oil pollution, obstruction to navigation, wetland mitigation, dock damage, boat damage, boat lemon laws, and property rights of riparian landowners. Most of Mr. Kuebler’s cases involve complex and highly technical factual and legal issues requiring extensive knowledge and expert analysis. Mr. Kuebler has litigated claims which involve the following statutes: Suits in Admiralty Act; Admiralty Extension Act; Public Vessels Act; Federal Tort Claims Act; Rivers and Harbors Act; Jones Act; Longshore Harbor Workers Compensation Act; Federal Employers Liability Act; Death On The High Seas Act; Clean Water Act; Federal Water Pollution Control Act; Outer Continental Shelf and Submerged Lands Act; Tucker Act. As well, Mr. Kuebler has handled property and cargo damage transportation claims and bill of lading disputes under the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act and Harter Act, and he has handled claims involving foreign seamen immigration under U.S. Customs and Immigration laws, Salvage, Cabotage laws, General Average, challenges to operators licenses [suspension/revocation hearings] involving the U.S. Coast Guard, and legal process under the Hague Convention. Mr. Kuebler has litigated thousands of Asbestos cases, including those which resulted in the client suffering from Mesothelioma, for over 25 years. Such claims involve mass toxic tort issues, class actions and FDA product use and labeling regulations, and consumer product safety statutes.
