Sherri L. Krueger is a senior associate attorney with Olup & Associates. She focuses her practice on all facets of family law, divorce and child custodial issues. With compassion, empathy and respect at the core of her work, Sherri uses a practical, common sense approach to helping clients overcome complicated family issues and emerge with the future in mind.
She devotes a portion of her practice to representing clients of the firm in divorce proceedings and post-dissolution actions. This includes post-divorce enforcement and modification of spousal maintenance, the division of property and marital debt, and payment of attorneys’ fees. As a Rule 114 qualified neutral, she also offers clients mediation services, having extensive experience mediating spousal maintenance disputes. When youth are involved, Sherri often becomes a trusted advocate in complicated custody matters, counseling on the establishment and modification of child support, parenting time, vacation schedules, and other important legal decisions impacting the livelihood of affected children. Throughout all phases of settlement and litigation, she strives to be responsible and ethical in her representation of clients.
Sherri is a member of the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Bar associations and their respective Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) sections. She is also a member of the Family Law League, as well as the 8th District Bar Association, where she assists with CLE program planning.
She received her J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. Sherri graduated from Winona State University, magna cum laude, with a B.S. degree in paralegal studies. While in law school, she worked as a student certified attorney for Legal Assistance of Dakota County where she provided services in the area of family law. Sherri was a Founder's Scholarship recipient, Burton Award nominee for legal writing and representation, and Cali Award recipient for the insurance law course at William Mitchell College of Law. She has been a volunteer mentor with her alma mater for two years.
Sherri joined Olup & Associates in 2004 as a law clerk and transitioned into the position of associate attorney shortly thereafter. Prior to joining the firm, she was a paralegal for eight years for a large Minnesota law firm where she held the position of paralegal chair.
