Joshua D. Krell is a partner with Clark, Hunt, Ahern & Embry, a preeminent general practice firm in Cambridge.  Mr. Krell’s primary practice centers upon the representation of private schools and human service agencies serving individuals with disabilities, as well as other non-profit and for-profit entities.  Mr. Krell advises clients with regard to corporate issues, regulatory agencies and administrative matters, employment and probate issues, and special education related litigation. 

Prior to joining Clark, Hunt, Ahern & Embry, Mr. Krell worked for over six years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Unemployment Fraud and Insurance Fraud Divisions of the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General.  Those years were spent prosecuting complex white-collar criminal matters in courts all over the Commonwealth. 

Mr. Krell received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bates College in 1989, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law in 1992.  While in law school, Mr. Krell worked as a Student Editor for the Territorial Sea Journal.  He has been admitted to practice law in both Massachusetts and Maine since 1992; and was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 1994, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in 2010. 

 In 2011, Mr. Krell earned an AV rating (the highest rating) from Martindale-Hubbell, the country’s leading peer review rating system.  An AV rating is an objective indication that he has the highest professional ability and ethical standards. 

Mr. Krell is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Inn of Court. He additionally serves on the Board of Directors of the East End House, a family and community center in East Cambridge which was founded as one of the country’s earliest settlement houses in 1875.  Mr. Krell further serves his community as a member of the Human Rights Committee at The Learning Center, a special education program of the Protestant Guild for Human Services, Inc., located in Waltham.
