Michael J. Tiffany concentrates his practice in litigation and dispute resolution, handling a broad range of general business and complex commercial matters. He has extensive experience and consistent success in his motions practice, with an emphasis on dispositive motions, before numerous federal and state courts as well as in arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Tiffany's practice includes handling multiple phases of the litigation process encompassing all aspects of dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration and trial.
Complex Commercial Litigation
Michael has litigated and advised clients on a variety of matters involving contract disputes, business torts, electronic discovery, breach of representations and warranties, and licensing and purchase price disputes. He has worked on behalf of a variety of clients, including large public companies, individual corporate representatives, privately held corporations, institutional lenders, and private equity firms. Recently, Michael defeated a multimillion dollar fraud claim brought by a global apparel company. Diesel Props S.R.L. v. Greystone Bus. Credit II LLC, 2011 U.S. App. LEXIS 318 (2d Cir. 2011). Michael also defeated a $32 million action for breach of letters of credit against a Ukrainian bank. Cargill Financial Services International, Inc. v. Bank Finance and Credit Limited, 70 A.D.3d 456 (1st Dep't 2010).

Michael has successfully represented clients in regulatory agency investigations including FINRA disciplinary matters.

Michael has counseled a variety of clients on e-discovery preparedness and compliance.
