Julie Kosovec is a seasoned attorney who concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation. Her areas of litigation expertise include: shareholder, employment, construction and real estate disputes. Prior to joining Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco, Ms. Kosovec was a shareholder at Hyman Lippitt, P.C.
Ms. Kosovec's recent accomplishments include:
- Participated on trial team in an unfair competition and business tort case which obtained a $300 million judgment - the largest state court verdict in history
- Participated in a multi-million dollar antitrust litigation which resulted in client obtaining a $500 million settlement
- Successfully defended emergency motion for temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction proceedings for Tier 1 automotive supplier which resulted in extremely favorable settlements
- Successfully litigated an adversary proceeding in bankruptcy court which prevented a debtor from discharging client's judgment
- Performed as lead counsel in commercial arbitration resulting in $1.2 million arbitration award for automobile parts supplier
- Won summary judgment on behalf of a national provider of security defense services in a case seeking $10M in contract and tortious interference damages
- Successfully defended numerous employment law claims on behalf of various corporations
- Successfully defended licensed professionals in multiple administrative hearings before the Michigan Dept. of Labor and Growth which resulted in dismissals of all claims
- Obtained emergency injunctive relief against competing business enterprise which resulted in successful settlement in corporate client's favor
