Marvic is a descendant of immigrants from Venezuela and as a result can relate with the struggles and dreams of individuals wishing to immigrate to the United States. Marvic’s initial experience in the workplace was as the receptionist for an immigration lawyer in New Orleans. This experience left a strong desire to continue to work in the immigration field and it became her focus in law school and subsequently as a licensed attorney. In law school Marvic concentrated on International Law and received a Certificate of International Legal Studies. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since her admission to the Louisiana bar in 1998. On a yearly basis she attends the American Immigration Lawyers Association annual conference and other conferences addressing immigration issues and the constantly changing laws affecting immigrants. Most recently she served as the AILA Liaison for the Immigration Court in New Orleans. She is a frequent speaker on immigration and most recently was invited to speak at a CLE for Family Law lawyers dealing with immigration issues.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Marvic and her family moved to the Baton Rouge area after Hurricane Katrina.
