Leigh Thompson is a senior associate in the Securities Department, and a member of the Broker-Dealer Compliance and Regulation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2006.
Practice
Mr. Thompson's practice has included investigations for insider-trading both at the state and federal level, and advising on compliance programs for the broker-dealer industry.
While in law school, Mr. Thompson held a summer associate position with WilmerHale and served as a judicial intern with the Pro Se Office of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. During his internship, Mr. Thompson reviewed the court’s pro se filings, and researched and drafted sua sponte dismissal orders and memoranda in various matters including prisoner civil rights claims, habeas corpus petitions and standing to sue under federal regulatory statutes. Mr. Thompson received his JD, magna cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He graduated magna cum laude from the Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in economics in 2003.
