Laura Terry is counsel in the Litigation Department at WilmerHale. Her practice focuses primarily on complex civil actions and products liability litigation.

Practice

Since joining the firm in September 1999, Ms. Terry has been involved in virtually all aspects of civil litigation, including the commencement of litigation, discovery, pre-trial practice, trial, post-trial proceedings, appeals, and settlement. She has drafted briefs for cases in the US Courts of Appeals for the 4th and 6th Circuits, as well as motions and briefs in state and federal courts across the country. Ms. Terry recently argued an appeal in the California Court of Appeal for the First District.

Highlights

• Ms. Terry currently represents an international pharmaceutical company in vaccine litigation, including co-managing the expert witness component of those cases.
• Ms. Terry represented a biotechnology company in a highly successful legal battle involving a licensing dispute with a worldwide clinical diagnostics company. She served as part of the team that conducted a ten-week jury trial that led to a $1.25 billion acquisition of the firm's client by the defendant.
• In 2005, Ms. Terry assisted the firm pro bono in obtaining the settlement of a civil rights action against law enforcement in Texas for the wrongful arrest of several African-American residents.
