Joel Kleinman joined Dickstein Shapiro LLP in 1974, and became a partner in 1981. Mr. Kleinman works in the Complex Dispute Resolution Practice, and primarily focuses on insurance coverage, liabilities, and mass tort litigation. He has worked with a large medical device manufacturer to secure hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance coverage for liabilities arising from mass tort litigation involving silicone breast implants, allegedly contaminated blood therapies, and natural rubber latex gloves. Mr. Kleinman also has represented railroads in securing coverage for losses resulting from derailments and explosions which caused substantial property damage and bodily injuries. Additionally, he represented clients confronting liabilities for the toxic waste cleanups at more than 100 hazardous waste disposal sites, each of which was the subject of federal and/or state environmental enforcement scrutiny. In 2011, Mr. Kleinman was named one of Legal 500's recommended lawyers.
