Brett Taylor has experience in a variety of commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts, including the representation of some of the nation's largest companies. His civil litigation experience includes commercial litigation matters, complex contract disputes, class action litigation, federal securities litigation, state tax litigation, trade secret litigation, and general business litigation. Brett has experience with trial, including witness preparation. Brett also has experience with numerous aspects of discovery and motion practice, including drafting discovery motions, dispositive motions, and motions in limine.
Brett is an active participant in Jones Day's pro bono service. He has represented clients in landlord-tenant disputes in Ohio state court and was part of a team that won a $10.9 million verdict for an African-American neighborhood that had been denied access to public water for more than 50 years. He also helped successfully brief a Sixth Circuit appeal involving complex sentencing issues in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Blakely v. Washington.
