John M. Kirk, Jr., has an active estate planning and probate practice. He represents a number of closely held businesses. Prior to joining Monaghan P.C., he was a founding partner in the law firm of Meyer & Kirk P.L.L.C. where he worked with his father, John M. Kirk for fourteen years prior to his passing.
Kirk is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and received his juris doctorate from Detroit College of Law. He a member of the Michigan Bar, American Bar Association and Oakland County Bar Association. He started with the firm of Meyer, Kirk Snyder & Safford P.L.L.C., as a law clerk in 1996 and later joined the firm as an associate after graduation from law school. Kirk has experience working with clients in the areas of probate, estate planning, corporate law, real estate, landlord tenant and asbestos defense. Kirk played basketball for four years at Kalamazoo College, the last as a player/coach and was an assistant basketball coach at Cranbrook Kingswood school. He is an avid sailor and is a former Commodore of the Walloon Yacht Club.
