Kirby, Robert J.

Susan Kincaid is a special counsel in the Real Estate Practice Group. She joined the firm in 1988. Ms. Kincaid was a junior partner at Hale and Dorr until 1997. She rejoined the firm in 2005 after serving for eight years as deputy general counsel at two technology companies.

Practice

Ms. Kincaid represents clients in a wide range of commercial real estate matters, including development, leasing, financing, acquisitions and dispositions. Her recent projects include development, zoning and parcel assembly for the redevelopment of industrial property into a project that will include retail, residential, office and R&D uses. Her other work includes representation of a biosciences company in the development and construction of a research and manufacturing campus, and retail and office leasing for a downtown Boston mixed-use complex that revitalized a historic landmark building.

In her role as deputy general counsel and director of legal affairs for Channelwave Software, a privately held electronic commerce and software company, Ms. Kincaid’s primary focus was on corporate matters and support of the Business Development, Sales and Operations Department. She also managed the Human Resources and Compliance Departments. Ms. Kincaid was also a vice president and deputy general counsel at Sapient Corporation, a publicly held technology consulting and software development company, where she played a key role in developing and implementing the company’s strategy for worldwide delivery of legal services. In addition, she advised on significant company policy and compliance matters.
