Neil J. King is a retired partner who practiced in the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, and was a member of the Aviation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 1971.
Practice
Mr. King’s practice focused on a mix of regulatory areas, including aviation, environmental protection, chemical regulation, occupational safety and health, and agriculture—in connection with which he has advocated clients’ positions before federal and state agencies, Congress and the courts.
Over the years, he counseled clients (including the major trade associations of the chemical, steel, textile, nonferrous metals and silica products industries) on a wide variety of regulatory issues and represented them in rulemaking proceedings and litigation. As an adjunct to his regulatory practice, Mr. King assisted clients on a variety of legislative matters relating to hazardous waste regulation, environmental reporting, proposed amendments to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and overall reform of the administrative/rulemaking process at federal agencies.
Professional Activities
Mr. King is a member of the American Bar Association and a former adjunct professor at American University Law School.
