Omar Khan is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group and the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2009.
Practice
Mr. Khan has a general litigation practice with a focus on intellectual property and securities matters. He also has an active pro bono practice, which includes representing indigent criminal defendants in their appeals before the New York State appellate courts.
During law school, Mr. Khan was an intern in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. He also interned for the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights, where he assisted in drafting pleadings and responding to dispositive motions in several cases challenging the prolonged detention of US citizens and illegal aliens suspected of terrorist activities.
From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Khan was a patent examiner in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
