Meghan Sweeney, a litigation associate at Rome McGuigan, P.C., received her undergraduate degree with distinction from the University of Virginia and her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. While in law school, she participated as a law student representative in the Asylum & Human Rights Clinic, counseling and advocating for clients in asylum proceedings before the Hartford Immigration Court and Newark Asylum Office. She also served as Symposium Editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Journal, organizing a symposium on the legal issues facing undocumented workers and new approaches to regulating immigrant labor.
Ms. Sweeney previously worked as a summer associate at Rome McGuigan, P.C., and as a law clerk at the National Chamber Litigation Center, the appellate litigation wing of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Sweeney is a member of the Connecticut, Hartford County, and Maryland State Bar Associations. She has been an active volunteer with school-aged children, from serving as a big sister in the Young Women's Leadership Program to teaching constitutional law to Hartford students.
