Brent T. Sykora has been practicing law in Bexar County since 2004. Mr. Sykora has experience working in several legal disciplines including but not limited to labor/employment, contract law, real estate law, tax law, intellectual property and water law.
In 2003, he completed, A Study of Texas Water Policy in the Edward’s Aquifer Region of Texas, an academic research project under the assistance and supervision of Professor Gabriel Eckstein, then Director of the Center for Water Law and Policy at Texas Tech University and advisor to the U.N. Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization and Ambassador Chusei Yamada of the U.N. International Law Commission.
Before attending law school, Mr. Sykora worked for various corporations including Dell Computer Corp. and Raytheon Corp. While attending law school, Mr. Sykora clerked under Chief Justice Brian J. Quinn of the 7th Court of Appeals of Texas in Amarillo, Texas. He also worked as a student attorney under Professor Marilyn E. Phelan with the Texas Tech University School of Law Tax Clinic.
Mr. Sykora is currently licensed to practice in all Courts of the State of Texas and before the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Mr. Sykora previously served as Secretary of the Alamo Pachyderm Club and is a former member of the Baylor University Board of Library Advisors. Additionally, Mr. Sykora sits on the board of editors for the San Antonio Bar Association and has contributed as both a writer and editor for San Antonio Lawyer magazine and The Subpoena newsletter. Mr. Sykora also regularly participates in the annual Ethics Follies musical revue, put on by the Association of Corporate Counsel and benefiting the Community Justice Program of Bexar County, Texas.
Mr. Brent T. Sykora attended Baylor University for his Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts, Cum Laude and received his Juris Doctor for Texas Tech University.
