Kessinger, Joseph S.

Alison Kennickell is a Martindale Hubbell AV rated partner in the litigation section of the firm. Ms. Kennickell concentrates her practice in the areas of trial practice, primarily in the area of medical malpractice defense. 

A native of Clemson, South Carolina, Ms. Kennickell graduated summa cum laude in 1998 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she received a B.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in American Studies.  While attending the University of Tennessee, Ms. Kennickell was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Upon earning her undergraduate degree, Ms. Kennickell attended the University of Georgia School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor cum laude in 2002.  While at Georgia, Ms. Kennickell was a member of the Georgia Moot Court Team, where she competed with and coached the ABA Moot Court Team.

Ms. Kennickell has been named to the 2013 "Best Lawyers in America" in the category of Medical Malpractice – Defendants.  Also, Ms. Kennickell has been twice named a Georgia “Rising Star” by Atlanta Magazine.  The Rising Star program seeks to identify the top 2.5% of up-and-coming lawyers in Georgia who are under 40 and have been in practice less than 10 years.   

Ms. Kennickell is a member of the Georgia State Bar, the Savannah Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.  Outside of her law practice, Ms. Kennickell has been an instructor of law at Armstrong Atlantic State University’s Continuing Education program.  She has also been involved in various civic and volunteer organizations.

Ms. Kennickell is admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
