Brian G. Svoboda, of counsel in the firm's Political Law group, works with businesses, PACs, parties and candidates to help them navigate complex laws governing the political process. He also provides general counseling to a wide range of organizations. He has represented clients in proceedings before the FEC, courts, federal and state prosecutors, and other agencies. His practice before the Federal Election Commission has helped clients make innovative use of technology in the political arena: exempting blogs from the reach of federal campaign finance law, allowing publicly funded presidential campaigns to accept Internet credit card contributions, and helping online companies make their services available to candidates.
