Mr. Sutter received a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975 and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1979. In law school, he was a member of the Board of Advocates. Mr. Sutter also studied in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and is fluent in the Spanish language. He is currently a member of the Texas, Travis County and Houston Bar Associations and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. Mr. Sutter is licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of Texas, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Sutter's principal areas of practice are healthcare litigation, bad faith/fraud, insurance, commercial, general business, construction, property damage, contractual indemnity, medical and legal malpractice and maritime litigation. Mr. Sutter also handles substantial personal injury and death cases for both defendants and plaintiffs.
