Doug Sullivan was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, graduating from Cedar Rapids LaSalle High School in 1982. Doug studied English and played football at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota and studied abroad in London, England. Doug received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. Doug studied the law at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa and received his J.D. in 1991.
Doug moved to Illinois and began practicing law in Joliet focusing on Labor and Collective Bargaining with Personal Injury litigation as well as Petitioners Worders Compensation. Doug then took a job at one of the largest, most well respected, Workers Compensation defense firms in Illinois where he stayed for almost 10 years.
Doug has litigated, negotiated and tried hundreds of workers compensation and personal injury cases since he began his practice. He has arbitrated, negotiated and participated in mediations resulting in six and seven figure settlements in personal injury cases in Illinois and Iowa and argued before the Appellate Court of Illinois. He has also represented or advised employees in harassment, wrongful termination and unemployment cases.
Doug continues to advise and represent consumers in cases involving consumer protection, lemon law, breach of warranty, fraud and deceptive business practices dealing with debt collectors, direct marketers, car salesmen, and other unscrupulous parties.
He remains very active in the community and has been coaching and working with young people in and around Wheaton, Illinois and Chicagoland for almost 20 years. He participates in numerous community events including the Hussle up the Handcock and the Annual Walk to End Alzheimers. He is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association and the American Inns of Court, DuPage County Chapter. Doug has traveled extensively, enjoys biking and good food. He has been married to a wonderful woman for over twenty years, he has three active children; and one short, fat, inactive english bulldog.
