Fred's law practice primarily centers on commercial matters, real estate, civil litigation, auto accidents, wrongful death, personal injury, employment law, banking matters, and construction issues.
Over the years, Fred has had trial experience in virtually every area of the law, including complex commercial transactions, civil disputes, cases involving serious injuries, and criminal matters. Fred's clients include banks, businesses, farmers, construction firms, real estate developers, and individuals. He has also acted as an arbitrator to settle and decide disputes for other lawyers.
In 1974, Fred graduated from the University of North Dakota with a B.A. in business graduating summa cum laude. In 1977, he received his J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law where he graduated with distinction. Fred began his law practice in Wahpeton with the firm of Johnson, Milloy, Johnson, Stokes and Robinson. Four years later, Fred partnered with Richard Smith and founded the present Smith, Strege & Fredericksen firm.
Fred and his wife, Wanda, reside in Wahpeton, North Dakota. They have three daughters and two grandchildren.
