Sandra A. Strempel is a Director of the firm and concentrates her practice in three areas: litigation, family law, and immigration law. She has successfully tried many civil and criminal cases in both state and federal courts. These cases involved a variety of issues including products liability, personal injury, liquor liability, contractual disputes, premises liability, fraud, drug distribution and money laundering. Ms. Strempel has also prevailed in a number of appeals before the Vermont Supreme Court and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Fourth Circuits.
- Litigation:
Ms. Strempel's litigation clients include insurance companies, national retail businesses and manufacturers, construction companies, and a variety of professional organizations and individuals. Prior to joining the firm in 1989, Ms. Strempel represented the United States in civil and criminal cases as an Assistant United States Attorney.
- Family Law:
In the family law portion of her practice, Ms. Strempel has represented a number of individuals in cases involving parental rights and responsibilities, child support and the distribution of substantial assets.
- Immigration:
She also has extensive experience in Immigration, stemming from her work in the 1980's as a staff attorney with the United States Customs Service in Washington D.C. and as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Vermont and the Eastern District of Virginia. In private practice, Ms. Strempel has advised businesses on immigration issues, has successfully obtained numerous temporary and permanent visas for individuals and employees of international companies, schools, hospitals and other enterprises, and has successfully represented numerous individuals in removal proceedings.
