Keegan, David C.

Sumeet Kaul was born in India in 1966 and moved to the United States with his family at the age of one. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Mr. Kaul followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, a Justice of the High Court in India, and pursued a legal education. While at the University of Florida College of Law, he served as a Board Member of the International Law Journal and earned a Juris Doctor in 1991.

Mr. Kaul began his legal career in Sarasota, primarily handling commercial matters for a small firm. From 1993 through 1996, Mr. Kaul served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in Sarasota. During this period of time, he successfully tried and convicted defendants charged with murder, drug trafficking and white collar crimes. He then broadened his jury trial experience by trying and defending auto negligence and premises liability cases for Allstate Insurance Company as In House Counsel.

In October 1997, Mr. Kaul joined Morgan & Morgan in the Tampa office. Since that time, he has aggressively represented hundreds of individuals and families as a member of the firm. He focuses his attention primarily on personal injury, wrongful death, defective heart device, and nursing home abuse and neglect cases. He has also lectured other attorneys for continuing legal education requirements in the area of nursing home abuse and neglect. Mr. Kaul has received an "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence. On a personal note, he is married with two children, and greatly enjoys the challenges and rewards of raising a family.
