Ms. Kato graduated magna cum laude from the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Kato served as Comments Editor of the University of Hawaii Law Review. Ms. Kato published an article in the University of Hawaii Law Review analyzing the potential effects of U.S. Supreme Court case, Ashcroft v. Iqbal, on Hawaii's pleading standards. Ms. Kato also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for her marks in Legal Practice I.
