Merle Stolar has practiced law since 1983. She is licensed in Ohio, Missouri, and Arizona. Prior to practicing law, after earning her Master of Education degree, Merle taught for the Cincinnati Public Schools for seven years at Children's Hospital Medical Center. After graduating 6th in her law school class, Merle practiced law in a corporate setting and in private practice in Cincinnati, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri. In 1987, she earned a Master of Laws degree in taxation from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. From 1987 – 1995, Merle worked for the U.S. Department of Treasury and the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office. In 1996, Merle relocated to Tucson, Arizona. From 1996 until 2003, she practiced law as a sole practitioner emphasizing family law.

In 2003, Merle's daughter, Karen Pollins, who besides a law degree also holds a M.B.A. degree, joined her mother, and together they formed the law firm of Stolar & Pollins, P.C. With Merle's advanced law degree in tax and Karen's advanced degree in business, the firm is uniquely qualified to deal with issues related to business and tax as they relate to their family law practice. Merle and Karen take pride in the personal service to each of their clients.
