Leslie Karlstrom-Krebs is an attorney licensed to practice law in the states of California, Washington and the District of Columbia, Washington DC. She and her husband, Ken Krebs, have been legal partners in the Law Offices of Karlstrom & Krebs since 1987. Their practice focuses primarily on criminal, immigration and family law. They also represent parties in disputed legal matters involving school issues and personal injury matters.
Leslie received her undergraduate BA degree from George Mason University, Virginia. Her undergraduate studies took place at both George Mason University and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Leslie graduated with High Honors, with a Double Major in Political Science and Latin American Studies. She received her JD (Juris Doctorate Degree) from the University of Puget Sound, Washington (now known as Seattle Law University).
As part of her legal studies, Leslie traveled to Mexico and Guatemala to attend legal seminars concerning Central American and Latin American law, earning legal certification thereto. Her academic accomplishments resulted in a post-graduate legal internship with the Central American Legal Studies Program Director and led to a legal position with the International Law Firm of Goodrich and Riquelme, in Mexico City. Leslie later returned to the East Coast and became a legal member of the Washington DC Bar, which allows reciprocity for attorneys to practice in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Leslie then relocated to California and became a member of the California Bar. She remains an active member in good standing with the California, Washington State and Washington DC Bars.
Leslie spent much of her childhood traveling and living overseas, which included 5 years in Germany, where she attended german school for several years. As a result of her personal background (Swedish parents) and upbringing, she loves to travel and meet people from all over the world. She speaks several languages and is passionate about helping those in need.
As a lawyer, Leslie has had the privilege of working with thousands of individuals from all walks of lives and places. Whether it involves immigrants facing hardships in the US due to problems with their legal status, resident immigrants wishing to become US citizens, foreigners seeking to come to the US to study, work or reunite with family, or helping individuals with matters involving criminal, family, work or school issues. Leslie strives to do her best for her clients to ensure the optimal outcome.
To help out in the local community, Leslie has been intimately involved with the local schools and community service clubs. This includes service in the international community service organization (Soroptimist), membership in the local Bar and Hispanic Chamber committee, mentoring and speaking to schools and students at all levels regarding the importance of quality higher education, sitting on local school site committees to help develop and improve programs for both students and faculty, and serving on the State Board of the California Association for Gifted Children as the regional representative for gifted students from Northern California.
On a personal note, Leslie and Kenny have 3 loving, beautiful and brilliant children, all of them currently pursuing their undergraduate and graduate degrees... (Yes, we are very proud parents!) We enjoy spending quality time with family, relatives and good friends, taking long walks, rooting for the SF Giants, romping with our golden retrievers, swimming on hot days and traveling at every possible opportunity. We are grateful for all the wonders that life brings our way.
