Stephen Kampmeier's practice focuses on domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, design protection, Internet matters, and intellectual property litigation.

Stephen has experience assessing domestic and foreign availability of proposed trademarks and domain names and protecting and maintaining current registrations worldwide. He has assisted clients with trademark audits, securitizations, acquisitions, and divestitures of intellectual property portfolios. Stephen's client base includes wine and alcohol distributors and producers, mobile telecom operators, health care service providers and pharmaceutical innovators, software companies, and start-ups. He works regularly with Jones Day's London, Shanghai, and Beijing offices.

In the U.S., Stephen represents clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Stephen also coordinates intellectual property enforcement efforts, including cease and desist letters and use investigations.

Stephen worked at Pennie & Edmonds LLP from 2000 through 2003. Stephen has translated legal materials from German to English, including a series of German Supreme Court decisions published in Comparative Constitutionalism: Cases and Materials (West Group 2002). He has formal training in negotiation and mediation.

Stephen sits on and has published an article for the Design Protection Committee of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (NYIPLA). In 2006, he began a two-year term on the Executive Committee of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Alumni Association.
