Michele Joseph is a native of Northern Virginia, born in Falls Church and raised in Oakton. Ms. Joseph received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia in 1989. While at the University of Virginia, Ms. Joseph was a member of the Chi Omega national fraternity and the invitation-only University Guide Service.
Ms. Joseph received her law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 1992 and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar that same year. While a law student, Ms. Joseph spent a summer clerking for the Honorable Michael Valentine of the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Ms. Joseph was also a research assistant for Judge Valentine in 1992-93, assisting him with a project on Courthouse Violence.
Ms. Joseph's civil litigation practice focuses primarily on medical malpractice, personal injury, and wrongful death. She has been an invited Continuing Legal Education speaker on Virginia's expert witness certification requirement in medical malpractice cases. Also an experienced appellate attorney, Ms. Joseph has argued before the Supreme Court of Virginia and has been successful with appeals in the District of Columbia.
Ms. Joseph is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the University of Virginia Alumni Association and the College of William and Mary Alumni Association. She resides in Fairfax with her family.
