Christie Jacqueline Jorge was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She was raised in a house filled with a mixture of American and Cuban traditions. Christie’s father was born in New York and her mother was born in Cuba. She grew up in a close and unified family, and they were a constant example for her of hard work, honesty, and never giving up. No matter where Christie is or what she is doing, the lessons she learned in her house have always stayed with her.
Christie earned her Bachelor’s degree from Florida International University, where she double majored in English and Mass Communications. She earned her J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law. While in law school, Christie completed internships with the City of Miami Attorney’s Office, NBC Universal & Telemundo, and with the Chief Circuit Court Judge at the McCracken County Courthouse in Paducah, Kentucky. Christie was also the recipient of the CALI Excellence Award in the areas of International Intellectual Property and Cyber Law.
Christie is fluent in Spanish and she is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
