Douglas Johnson is committed to providing outstanding legal services at a reasonable rate. He brings several years' experience as both an attorney and a CPA to his practice, providing him with a unique perspective on business, corporate, and commercial matters not available to most attorneys.

Experience

Douglas Johnson has experience as law firm attorney, in-house counsel, and staff attorney to an intermediate Texas appellate court. His experience as both law firm attorney and in-house counsel have focused on business and commercial matters, including both litigation and transactional work. In addition to complex commercial matters, Mr.Johnson has worked on a number of employment cases, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, in matters ranging from Title VII discrimination cases to employment contract cases to trade secret thefts and non-compete disputes. He has substantial experience setting up corporations and limited liability companies, including not-for-profit entities, as well as experience with contract drafting and negotiation in a number of commercial areas.

Mr. Johnson is licensed to practice in all courts of the State of Texas, as well as the United States Supreme Court and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. He is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas.

Education

Mr. Johnson graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in the top 10% of his law school class and served as managing editor of the law review. He currently serves as an executive committee member of the Texas Wesleyan Law Review Alumni Board.

Other Experience and Activities

In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Johnson has extensive experience as a CPA, including nine years between two of the largest international CPA firms as a financial auditor. He also has four years' experience with a multi-billion dollar international technology company as a Corporate Compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley manager. Mr. Johnson's corporate financial experience has provided him with an excellent understanding of the complex issues addressed in many commercial litigation and transactional matters.
