Ty Sponsel’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation.  He represents clients in state court, federal court and before arbitration panels.  Ty has handled a wide variety of matters, concentrating on energy litigation, securities fraud, securities class actions, contracts, construction, liens, real estate and debt collection.  He understands that one of the keys to effectively representing and helping clients is in depth preparation and knowledge about a client’s business, industry and specific problems.  Whether it is upstream, mid-stream, downstream, navigating the pitfalls of mechanic’s lien laws, or utilizing the numerous collection tools, no problem or issue is the same.  Ty focuses on the specific facts and specific goals of the client for each matter he handles while drawing upon the knowledge he has acquired throughout his years of experience.  His focus is finding solutions that fit clients’ current and future business needs.

Ty believes in giving back to the community and spends time working on pro bono matters.  Ty recently became a member of the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas for the year 2012 because of his dedication to providing pro bono services.  Away from work, Ty is a husband and father of three.  Ty was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003, and obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, cum laude, in 2006.
